Shenandoah Chamber & Industry Association's mission is to improve the economic vitality of the Shenandoah area, to expand
high paying employment opportunities, enhance Shenandoah's retail Shopping and dinning and to support major community projects
that improve the quality of life in Shenandoah.
Shenandoah's past and present is filled with enterprising entrepreneurs. One of Shenandoah's newest, Southwest Iowa Fiber Technology (SWIFT)
is revolutionizing life in Shenandoah for businesses and residents. They provide broad band fiber technology for internet, telephone and
TV services. This increases the communication capabilities for businesses and allows entrepreneurs to work from home.
SCIA professionals team with city of Shenandoah to implement progressive strategic plans, Tax Increment Financing projects and city
business loan proposals. SCIA also works with Iowa Economic Development to link prospects with state and federal funding sources. SCIA
staff make great efforts in business retention and devise creative solutions for businesses recruitment.
Major manufacturers in Shenandoah are Pella Corporation, Green Plains Inc., Lloyd Inc., and S3 Delta Harrows. Earl May Garden & Nursery Co.
and Brown's Shoe Fit Co. founded in Shenandoah still have corporate headquarters here along with flagship stores. Western Iowa media
powerhouse KMA Radio was also founded in 1925 in Shenandoah and still operates under local ownership.
